Valkyrie, also known as Brunnhilde, is a powerful warrior woman within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
She is a battle-hardened Asgardian warrior, hailing from a legendary group also named Valkyries. First appearing in the film *Thor: Ragnarok* (2017), played by Tessa Thompson, she is introduced as a scavenger on Sakaar.
Haunted by a tragic past where she witnessed the massacre of her fellow Valkyries at the hands of Hela, she abandoned her duty and retreated to Sakaar. She eventually rejoins Thor, helping him and the other Revengers to defeat Hela and save the Asgardian people.
Since then, Valkyrie has become a key ally to Thor and the Avengers, even inheriting the throne of New Asgard after Thor departs. She is known for her strength, combat skills, and sardonic wit. She is also one of the first openly LGBTQ+ characters in the MCU.
